魚難，無盡的苦痛
「弓魚」，本是山城福建省建甌市特有處理活魚保鮮的一種綁魚技術。六百年來，魚販用這種不 人道的方式，販賣一般人認知的表面新鮮。
傳統弓魚法要分兩次處理，主要是用尼龍繩穿扯過於嘴、鰓、鰓蓋，拉到魚尾綁住，讓魚體彎成 弓形。這種弓過的魚被認為吃起來特別鮮美，沒有魚腥味，並可以拉長魚離水後存活的時間。
消費者要的「鮮」、「美」，卻來源於魚難！魚兒以其苦難，在死亡前，得嘗盡無盡的痛苦！ 因為束縛，所以魚形完整；嘴與鰓蓋被迫打開，痛苦換來呼吸；因為綁住肛門，至死不再有排洩， 腹內的水份讓它多活幾小時。這是「鮮」與「美」的來由。
科學研究早已證實魚類能感受疼痛，也會因為緊迫與恐懼感到痛苦。人需食飲，但飲食之際，又 孰能無惻隱之情？佛經素有「自不殺生，教人不殺」的教誡(《 長阿含經 》)。但長養不殺生的心行， 說起來卻是既難且易。慈悲心、菩提心的厚殖與穿透性，其強弱與否恆落實在生活中的一點一滴，見 其生不忍見其死，逐步淨除其心。經云：
多聞聖弟子離殺斷殺，棄捨⼑杖，有慚有愧，有慈悲心，饒益⼀切，乃至蜫蟲，彼於殺生淨除其心。(《中阿含經》)
細細考察無明所犯殺業，則傷生、殺生之舉，何其深廣呢？何況日常之中，飲水一口，吞盡多少微生 物呢？鞋底所踏多是無明傷生；心裡瞋忿，情緒所致，也是造殺。蚊蟲來襲，巴掌聲落，殺生而不覺 殺亦屬常見？《 分別善惡報應經 》說殺有十業：
⼀、⾃⼿殺，⼆、勸他殺，三、慶快殺，四、隨喜殺，五、懷胎殺，六、勸墮胎殺，七、酬冤殺，⼋、斷男根殺，九、方便殺，⼗、役他殺。
唉，無明傷生的舉動確實是數之不盡，說之不完！今說弓魚之例，僅是我們有形造殺的一個案例而已。 實際上，生活中有形、無形的一切都可能引發殺生之業，真宜處處在在留心自持。
於細微罪⽣⼤怖畏，受持學戒，離殺、斷殺、不樂殺⽣。(《 雜阿含經 》)
還記得民國時，著名的律僧弘一法師與其徒豐子愷共編《護生畫集》，第一篇便是談「眾生」： 「是亦眾生，與我體同。應起悲心，憐彼昏蒙。普勸世人，放生戒殺；不食其肉，乃謂愛物。」物類平等，徒奈眾生緣業而生，體結不同，面對各具鮮活之軀、躍動之體的眾生，我們又豈能丟失內心的 悲心，專以個人的欲望或好惡來對待呢？
